2023 Nissan ARYIA | Barberino NissanNissan offers two all-electric cars, the Leaf and the soon-to-arrive AYRIA. The Leaf debuted in 2011 and has taken the small car world by storm with its quick acceleration, long driving range, and roomy interior. The AYRIA is Nissan’s first all-electric crossover SUV that’s sure to become a popular EV.

The Nissan Leaf

Trims

The Nissan Leaf is a hatchback that comes in two basic trims, the S and SV. Both of these trims can be configured with a Leaf battery pack or a Leaf Plus battery pack. When these two trims have the Leaf Plus battery arrangement, the trims become S Plus and SV Plus. There’s a separate trim, the SL Plus, that only comes equipped with the Leaf Plus battery pack.

Power

If you choose the S or SV without the Plus variation, the hatchback comes with a 40-kWh battery and a 110 kW electric motor that combined, produces 147 horsepower. The driving range for this setup is about 149 miles, and the Leaf gets about 111 mpg-equivalent combined city and freeway driving.

The Plus trims have a 62-kWh battery and a 160 kW electric motor that raises the horsepower to 214. This Leaf variation gets a driving range of about 226 miles and a combined mpg equivalent of about 108. Both versions of the Leaf have an e-Pedal regenerative braking system and front-wheel drive.

Interior and Technology

With two rows of seats, the Leaf can fit up to five people comfortably. All trims come with an infotainment system featuring an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Available features include navigation, voice recognition, and a six-speaker sound system.

Safety Features

All trims of the 2021 Nissan Leaf come with numerous driver-assist features, including forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a lane mitigation system, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

The Nissan AYRIA

Styling

While not much is known about the AYRIA, we do know that it’s a four-door all-electric crossover SUV. The AYRIA has a futuristic, aerodynamic design with wing-shaped LED headlights that give it a futuristic look.

Power

You can choose from two battery sizes, a 66-kWh or a 91-kWh. For city and freeway driving, choose the two-wheel-drive models. When you want more power to all four wheels, choose the available e-4FORCE all-wheel drive for extra traction and handling. Both drivetrains come with standard range or long-range capability. Charge your AYRIA while on the go or charge it at home.

Interior and Technology

The well-appointed interior of the AYRIA features zero gravity seats, a Bose speaker system, and a wireless charging pad. Use the Alexa integration to help you as a virtual assistant, use NissanConnect mobile services to remotely control the AYRIA, and enjoy Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Safety Features

Driver-assist features include an intelligent rear-view mirror, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and ProPilot Assist 2.0 for semi-autonomous driving.
