Trim Levels (Exterior)

The 2022 Nissan Frontier is available in three trim levels: S, SV, and Pro-4X. Additionally, there are two body styles for the Frontier to choose from. The King Cab, which boasts an extended cab with two doors or a four-door Crew Cab. The King Cab comes with a 6-foot bed, while the Crew Cab offers a choice of either a 5-foot or 6-foot bed.

The S cruises on 16-inch wheels, while the SV ups those to 17 inches. Engine (Power)

Nissan has one engine offering for the 2022 Frontier. This 3.8-liter V-6 engine produces 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. The engine is coupled with a nine-speed automatic transmission, offering plenty of power to get the job done all while maintaining smooth acceleration.

Performance

Rear-wheel drive is standard across the three trims of the 2022 Nissan Frontier but picking the optional four-wheel drive with low-range gearing can provide you with better control over a variety of weather and road conditions. Expect to get an EPA-estimated 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway with the rear-wheel-drive models, while the four-wheel-drive models get 17 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. Improved payload capacity is another update to the 2022 model, allowing you to tow up to 6,720 pounds and haul up to 1,610 pounds when properly equipped.

Interior

The updated interior of the 2022 Frontier is evident, you'll notice that Nissan put a lot of thought into making the interior design details comfortable and convenient for both drivers and passengers. The SV Premium package has simulated upholstery and a 10-speaker Fender sound system. The Pro-4X adds a 9-inch touch screen, and with the Pro Convenience package, you can also add a wireless charging pad.

Safety Features

The 2022 Nissan Frontier is loaded with safety and driver-assistance features. The S has forward collision mitigation to warn you of an impending collision and can even apply the brakes in some scenarios. The Technology package is available on all trims and includes a lane departure warning, blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, and adaptive cruise control.
