Trim Levels

The Nissan Altima has a fashionable, athletic appearance with highly sculptured flanks and a unique, sloping roofline that gives it a more coupe-like look. The front end contains angular headlamps and an ultra-wide grille that adds to the car's muscular look and improves functionality. It's also longer and slightly lower than other sedans. Plenty of color options help give the Altima its own distinctive personality.

Nissan offers the Altima in six different trims: the S, SV, SR, SR Midnight Edition, SR VC-Turbo, and SL. The base S comes with 16-inch steel wheels that move up in size as you increase trim levels. The SR trim adds stylish body-color door handles and a fancy dark chrome V-Motion grille.

Engine

The Altima's 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. The SL trim gives you the option of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates an impressive 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, delivering extra power for more reliable acceleration and a faster speed. Both engines pair with a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Performance

All-wheel drive is available on all trims, with the exception of the S trim, ensuring that the Altima can handle all types of weather. The precise steering system makes balanced handling almost effortless, and the suspension ensures that your ride is smooth, even on unpaved roads. The brake system also offers superior braking performance that will come in handy during a particularly busy commute.

Interior

The 2022 Altima is equipped with the latest innovative technology, including a particularly user-friendly dashboard with a unique look. On top trims, the dashboard is covered in simulated wood trims, giving it a more tangible feel and a more distinctive appearance. The flat-bottomed steering wheel further complements the sleek interior, and ultra-soft armrests make sitting in heavy traffic more enjoyable. The front seats can comfortably accommodate a variety of different body types, and the SL and Platinum trims add leather-wrapped seats for an even more luxurious look.

Higher trims also add extra comfort with power-adjustable front heated seats and a power moonroof. With a trunk containing 15.4 cubic feet of space and plenty of extra headroom in the rear row, the Altima's interior contains the perfect amount of space. A 7-inch touchscreen on the S trim and an 8-inch screen on all other trims ensure passengers will be kept entertained.

You'll have plenty of peace of mind as you drive the Altima, with a full suite of excellent safety features that include blind-spot detection, adaptive cruise control, rear-cross traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, and more.
